Weekend (Monthly) Recap

What’s that saying about the road to hell and best intentions? Well, I had the best of intentions to get back to some serious blogging, but obviously that just hasn’t happened. Quite frankly I’ve been so swamped, I haven’t even been able to read any blogs, let alone write any. So, what has been eating up so much of my time?

As many of you know, I started my own company a few months ago. I had one client right off the bat, but it was only enough work to occupy a couple of days a week, not bad in the big scheme of things, but definitely not enough to keep in business long. The excess free time lasted all of two weeks. I picked up a second client, then a third, then a fourth and so on.

I’m currently sitting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on the largest of my current projects. I work twelve hours a day at a plant, go back to the hotel room and work for another two to four hours (depending on the needs of the week) on deliverables for my other clients and dedicate ever Saturday and every other Friday to other projects, but I get to do them back in Oklahoma, so at least I am home with my family every weekend. It could be worse… Sundays are mostly for relaxing and spending time with my wife and son, but I have to hop on a plane on during the afternoon and fly back to BR to get ready and start the cycle again.

How long can a man hold up with such a grueling schedule? Hopefully, I can last until the end of January, because that is when I am projected to get back on track with a pseudo-normal routine. I have other projects going then, but it should only be two to juggle and I will have a few employees who can help me with those.

I’ve never had a large stockpile of sanity as it is, but keep your fingers crossed that what little bit I do have outlasts these trying times. It should be interesting to say the least.

So, what have you been up to while I was away?

That seems like a lot of work! But I hope that it pays back just as fine. Initial struggle is a must before we can settle.

(((HUGS)))

I hope you will be able to spend time with wife & Ty on the 19th.

well, i am glad at least that if you have to have a crazy schedule for now it's for your own benefit rather than that of a boss. ;) fingers crossed for you.

me? just trying to maintain a grip on my own sanity during my own crazy schedule (but no planes involved...just one old minivan).
