Weekend Recap

It was Oktoberfest weekend here in Green Country, which meant lots of food, lots of friends and a smidge of beer. We had a great time pursuing the vendor tents with their wide array of German fare and of course, we did a fair amount of dancing in most all of the beer tents. There’s nothing like a good polka to get your feet moving, lol. Well, I laugh, but dance to it every year.

After the festivities on Saturday, we took a group of friends out to see my cousin, Johnny Duke, sing at a local club. The man is a truly gifted musician and singer and his band is fantastic to boot. Yes, there were copious amounts of dancing there as well and a good time was had by all.

In fact we spent so much time dancing on Saturday, that come Sunday morning we were too sore to do much of anything so we hung out, watched football and just generally enjoyed each other’s company in a leisurely manner.

My son is still away on fall break (he spent it with his biological mother), but I get to pick him up this afternoon. Though he was only gone for four days, it feels like it’s been a month since I’ve seen him.

So, what did you get up to this weekend?

Ha! That's so funny! I never had you pegged for a polka guy either, but you sound like you had a blast. I've never known anyone to have a bad time at an Oktoberfest. :)
And congrats on your new book coming out, too!
