Friday 55

Welcome to Friday 55. The object of the game is to write a story using exactly 55 words. If you participate, be sure to drop a comment at G-Man’s blog so others will know how to find your story.

Aroma so strong it pulls me from my long slumber. I stumble through the darkness. I find the switch on the wall. The brightness does nothing to improve my mood. Near blind, I’m attracted by the scent. I must reach the source. I sigh in relief. I’ve arrived. Thank the Gods for my automatic coffeemaker.

I remember having the thought the other day that the word "aroma" seems to be reserved almost exclusively for coffee (I don't drink coffee, so I don't know where this thought came from). Since it was your first word, I knew exactly where this was going right from the start. But that caused me to have the strangest sense of deja vu as I read your 55. Seriously... I had to check the posting date to make sure I wasn't re-reading last week's contribution! Isn't that strange?

Maybe that's an indication that your story is universal.

lol, not so weird. I actually wrote this and posted it the first week of January this year, but I've been so busy I didn't have time to write a new one and decided to repost this one. :D

I am not a coffee drinker but I love the smell when you are grinding the beans and when it is brewing. I hope you enjoyed your coffee this morning!

Have a great day and Great 55!

haha! A repeat! No wonder it felt familiar! I don't know if I should feel sheepish or proud. *goes digging around for the original appearance*

Well that is an addiction indeed, if it leads you like a somnambulist :D

Fuller's Earth does that to me! But it is not the aroma, as it is the subconscious! :D

Apparently the aroma of fresh coffee brewing, makes potential house-buyers want to purchase your home. Guess it would work for you, great 55
