Weekend Recap
The weekend went by far too quickly…again. By Friday, we were all wiped, so we settled in to watch a movie and retired early.
Saturday I got up early and ran three miles. Well, I ran a mile and a half and then walk/ran the last mile and a half, but it was the longest distance I’ve been able to accomplish since I blew out my Achilles’ tendon. I have a good feeling that this will be the summer that I fully recover from that God awful injury.
I’m coaching my son’s spring basketball team. We had a game Saturday morning. The kids played their little hearts out, but we were seriously outmatched. They lost by a large margin. I think they still managed to have fun though, which is kind of the whole point of it all at this age.
I managed to pump out another thousand words on my WIP between events. I’m only about 40K away from the end now.
That evening we got together with my BIL & SIL for a cookout and a friendly game of Spades. A good time was had by all.
Sunday I hand-delivered autographed copies of The Dance to my mother and my grandmother. That was exciting. My mom was so excited she kept picking it up and looking at it almost the entire time I was there. My grandmother lives in a retirement community and she took me around to
So, what did you do this weekend?

Good Morning Son,
I just wanted to tell you again how proud I am of you and for you. I have the book here with me and am showing it to everyone who walks in the door.
Have a great day
Love
Proud MoM
Ah thanks, mom. :D I really appreciate that. :D
Have a great day too.
Excellent new cover, James. Rika did you right. I've had to order some books from Amazon while I await my author copies. Sigh. But I do have a booksigning coming up this week. Pretty excited about that. Maybe I'll sell out again?!?
Thanks, Kelly. It is my favorite cover to date. :D Oh, I'll keep my fingers crossed for the booksigning, but then...I'm sure you'll sell out. :D You'll have to let me know how it goes.
*snort* like you could keep me quiet. LOL. I appreciate your optimism. Wish you could be here. Might have had some opportunity to actually TALK. I know. Amazing.
lol, that would be nice. I'm sure we'll get an opportunity at some point in the near future. Are you attending the shindig in New Orleans?
sounds like it was a great weekend. it must feel good to have a sense of physical progress. these major injuries...sheesh...i feel for ya.
i just know you made your mom's and grandma's days with those signed books. yay!
Nah. Too far away, too much money. We're moving to TN ya know. ;)
Ah, yes, Lime. I knew that you, of all people, would understand the significance of the run. :D
lol, I think I just might've made their day. :D
Oh, that's right, Kelly. You'll be just getting settled in when the workshop is going on. Perhaps at RT next year then. :D
Sounds like a great weekend! I'm still unpacking from RT. Worked some on a little thing about a Dragon, Tiger, and Alien. It's been fun so far...
It was a great weekend. The story sounds quite intriguing. I can't wait to hear more about that one. :D It's quite a mix.
I can see why your mom kept looking at the book.
We had a busy but good weekend. We got some things around the house done and also helped out my friend, who just lost her husband,do somethings that she couldn't do at her house. Yesterday we went to church and relaxed at home.
I bet it was exciting to be shown off, excuse me...introduced..heehee around the retirement community where your grandmother lives.
Have a great day!
lol, thanks, Breazy.
Good on you for helping your friend in need. I can't imagine how I would even begin to function if I lost my wife.
It was exciting indeed. :D
Have a great day yourself. :D
ok, after i was skerred by your music player (it had a delayed start) i can finally comment now LOL anyways, sounds like you had a busy and fun weekend.
i did my own coaching except i was coaching my 11 yr old daughter's baseball team. we haven't won a game yet, but it doesn't affect most of the kids...only one, but he hasn't been showing up much lol i have to deal w competitive arseholes including one who helps me out when my husband can't coach (due to work). thurs is a game against the most competitive arsehole that no one in the league likes...thank goodness i don't have to deal w him because 11 yr old is in a play and it happens to be on thurs night! LOL
anyways, have a fantastic monday :)
lol, sorry about that. I just installed it over the weekend. :D
Oh, I hate it when you run into the ones that think they should be playing at a professional level at such an eary age.
They have plenty of time to get overly competative in high school. This age should just be about getting a love for the game and having a bit of fun. :D
I'm glad you get to avoid contact with the king of arseholes, lol.
Your Mum must be so proud of you James. You ran 3 miles? I can just about manage 3 minutes on my stepper!
Oh man...I feel your pain! Achilles tendon...YEOUCH!!! Good for you for running again. I couldn't run to save my life!
I'm just getting back into walking again. Just not off of any curbs! LOL...
She sure is, Akelamalu. :D. Yep, only three. There was a time when I ran ten miles three days a week... Ah, to be young again, lol.
lol, Jillie, Actually it hurt a bit when it ruptured, but it did really start hurting until they dug it out of my calf and reattached it to my ankle. That hurt like hell. :D
yes, you need to watch out for those curbs. :D
