Friday 55

Alright folks, the object of the exercise is to write a story using exactly 55 words. Susie is the one that started it all, so be sure to drop by her site as well.

His eyes burned with desire. Nostrils flared. She turned away, his face too much to bear. Rain bounced from the tin-roof, comforting, distracting. His hands found her arms, pulled at her, strong with need. She resisted, putting her hands on his shoulders. He begged; she relented. Her teeth met his throat. He was her first.

hmm...left a comment for James. Is another warranted? I want to join the ranks of this group of creatives. Savvy comment?

Hey James, I like this one. By condensing it as you have, it almost turns it into poetry. Interesting exercise for stretching your word pictures.

...and most certainly not her last.

good one, james. :)

My answer to James' challenge.

"Pain shoot like lightning, spreading from the source. His rippling flesh shivered on impact. Startled, betrayed by his own means, his heart slammed into his chest. What could he have done? How could he have prevented the attack? Alas, it wasn’t possible. He should have realized Kelly would kick his butt at the 55-word challenge."

Ce's turn. Despite the butt-kicking, James, you know we love ya right?

Take out an "o" in shoot. Should have edited. Sheesh.

Mwhahaha! You have poked the fluffy ferret mister....

Here's my contribution:

Midnight. Murder. Magic. Mayhem.
Kyla clutched the amulet and scurried through the forest. Nose skimming the decaying ground, she scented her way home, prize held in her mouth. Voices fluctuated in her wake, urging her to stop, to return her treasure. No. She lived not by man’s law, but by ferret law.
Find. Take. Mine.

Woot!

Thanks, Kelly. It is an exercise and as such, seems to get harder every week. :D

I'm sure you're right, Lime. :D She is on the prowl now.

lol, that was awesome, Kelly. Very cool indeed. lol, and yeah I know the butt kicking is done out of love. :D If I didn't love you guys in return, having my butt kicked might just upset me. :D

This is just for fun, no editing necessary. :D

You take teasing well, James. You only fun the ones you care about. At least that's how it works in my family. If I didn't, I wouldn't be me.

However, you are fully allowed to tell me to tone it down if you have difficulty telling the difference. I'm not someone who gets off on hurting others. Just so ya know.

Woot, indeed, Ce! That was outstanding. I love ferrets. I believe you may have kicked my butt with your entry as well. :D

Hey there, Suzie. I'll have to swing by and check it out. Maybe we could send them out on a blind date in cyberspace. :D You have a good weekend too! :D

lol, no hurt feeling here, Kelly. I know it's all in good fun and I have thick skin. Taunting is a favorite pastime in my family as well. :D

Excellent. Don't forget to dish it out too, babe. I enjoy a hearty tease-fest.

really good 55 James! I am still reading The Dance, things have been extra busy this week for me so I haven't had much time, I had hoped to finish by now but luck just hasn't been on my side. We have yucky weather moving in as I type and I am going to take advantage of it and read.

You have a great weekend and I am glad to hear that the storm didn't hit you all!
