A State of Rejection

There is a great post about rejections up at Storytellers Unplugged. There’s also a nice rant follow up on The Deep Blue Journal.

Rejections are a part of every writer’s life. If you don’t develop thick skin early on, you will crumble. The majority of my rejections to date have been the coveted form rejections, but I’ve been lucky enough to receive several that offered advice and even a couple that were down right inspirational.

Have you received any rejections that left you fuming? The good ladies over at Crabby Cows are posting a series of writer’s rejecting their rejections. Some of these are just down right funny.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

lol, i'm no writer but i do recall honor's comp as a freshman. the prof ASKED to see more of my poetry after he raved about the one i turned in for an assignment. i really didn't want to show him anything but dutifully trotted off like a good lil freshman. he read the stuff, called it awful, pulled out the one he had given an A and said, 'what the heck was i thinking giving this an A? it's C work at best.' i said, 'well, i never actually asked for your opinion but i was sure his writing talent would get him out of Econocollege's english department anyday.'

my brother has decided to wallpaper his bathroom with the 'coveted form rejections' though. He writes sci-fi and poetry.

Rejects just don't bother me. I kind of think, 'Ho hum' then put the email in the trash can.

It's the acceptances that freak me out. Shit! I forgot, I got a bloody acceptance today!

Must amend my blog!

:o)
